Basic Function and Responsibility:

The job of the Pricing & Promotions Supervisor is to accurately and efficiently manage the pricing and promotion portfolios for the European Imports product assortment to meet and/or exceed communicated goals and expectations.

The Pricing and Promotions Supervisor will manage a team of individual/s to accomplish communicated responsibilities.

Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities:

Pricing and Promotions Supervisor and team will consistently evaluate current pricing by manufacture, by category, by commodity to maximize European Imports profit capture capabilities while remaining market and industry competitive. This function will include evaluating and recommending opportunities to lower European Imports procured pricing via but not limited to: freight savings, advancement in vendor pricing bracket, promotional buy-in purchases, and market forecast hedge buys.

Price Changes: The Pricing and Promotions Supervisor and team will own processes for collecting, recording, evaluating, implementing, and communicating vendor generated price changes for items currently in European Imports assortment. The internal processes for generating customer specific "contract pricing" and OpCo pricing will also be carried out by the Pricing and Promotion Supervisor & team

Price Discounting: All price discounting with regards to scrap, obsolete and aged inventory will be owned, recommended and approved by Pricing and Promotions Supervisor

"Own Brand" Pricing: European Imports "Own Brand" pricing models will be owned and managed by the Pricing and Promotions Supervisor and team. Determining: Sell price, promotional schedules & Promotional amounts as well as attention the company competitive strategies for these items.

New Items: The Pricing and Promotions Supervisor & team will have responsibility of owning the New Item and New Vendor build process. This will entail building the items into the European Imports & Sysco system as well as determining our acquired and landed pricing, and all fees associated with acquired product. From there, this team will determine European Imports landed cost and sell cost of goods to Sysco and direct customers.

Promotions: Promotions Supervisor and team will develop and implement the process/s for scheduling, collecting, implementing and communicating promotions which will be cultivated from European Imports vendor community. In addition, this team will generate scheduled bulletins/ publications which will serve as a platform for communicating these events. This includes facilitating, validating, and chargebacks processes associated with "custom" promotions supporting European Imports sales organization.

  • Adhere to all applicable GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice), personal hygiene, and SQF (Safe Quality Food) policies and procedures as described in the European Imports – Sysco Food Safety Training Manual.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Working Conditions:

General working conditions – exposed to adverse conditions 5% or less of time. Regularly required to sit, stand, walk and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse and telephone to talk and hear. Frequently required to sit and reach with hands and arms and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 20 pounds.

Supervision Received:

  • General supervision is received from the Marketing and Merchandising Director.

Supervision Exercised:

  • General supervision is exercised over Merchandising Coordinator(s).

Minimum Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and abilities can be acquired is highly desirable.

  • 5 years of previous experience in a food service environment is required.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

  • Strong computer skills - Intermediate word processing (Microsoft Word preferred) and intermediate spreadsheet application skills (Microsoft Excel preferred) are desired.

  • Ability to work with a variety of people and situations in a fast-paced environment.
