The Auto Club Group Field Manager III in Aurora, Illinois

The Auto Club Group (ACG) provides membership, travel, insurance and financial services offerings to approximately 9 million members and customers across 11 states and 2 U.S. territories through the AAA, Meemic and Fremont brands. ACG belongs to the national AAA federation and is the second largest AAA club in North America.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities (details of the basic job functions):

Achieve established sales and service goals for assigned location(s). Recruit, develop and manage the activities of personnel responsible for selling and servicing The Auto Club Group (“ACG”) products to members and ensures that staff members are adequately trained in all necessary skills. Motivate, coach and develop personnel (insurance agents, travel agents and member representatives) in order to attain and exceed established sales and service goals. Take an active part in the development of marketing plans, sales goals and performance objectives and standards related to insurance, membership, travel, and ancillary products and services. Develop and implement new programs, policies and procedures to improve member service, revenue generation and efficiency. Develop area market, implement and participate in programs to promote ACG and its products and services to the public and community.

Represent ACG as an advocate in the branch community and actively participate in community relations, civic functions and media relations. Develop working relationships with elected officials, local media, travel industry representatives and local SYC vendors. Apply proven business techniques for budgetary, expense and cash flow management, process workflow and quality control procedures to manage the branch as a revenue producing operation. Ensure compliance with all federal and state insurance and travel industry regulations. Administer the physical plant functions of assigned locations as needed. Actively sell travel, membership, financial services, and ancillary products and services as necessary.

Supervisory Responsibilities (briefly describe, if applicable, or indicate None):

Club, Travel and Insurance personnel (insurance agents, travel agents, member representatives, administrative and clerical support staff) in various locations within assigned region.

Preferred Qualifications:

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Travel, Insurance, Marketing or a related field.

Experience in/with:

· Achieving established revenue, sales, customer service and profitability goals developing and motivating sales and service personnel to reach or exceed sales and service goals, including coaching on sales techniques for improving individual and group performance

· Developing local markets

Knowledge of:

· Sales techniques

· Coaching sales and/or service personnel

· AAA club and travel or insurance products and services

Work Environment:

Work in a temperature-controlled office environment. Required to travel and promote business, develop relationships within the community, oversee and meet with field personnel in the territory and attend and participate in company meetings.

Required Qualifications (these are the minimum requirements to qualify):

Education (include minimum education and any licensing/certifications):

  • College level coursework in Business Administration, Travel, Insurance, Marketing, or a related field

  • Complete and maintenance of appropriate State Property & Casualty and Life and Health Sales licensing exams within 90 days of hire

  • Possession of a valid State Driver’s License

  • Complete branch management training curriculum including club/insurance related training for products and services offered by ACG

Experience:

  • Assisting with budget, expense control and cash flow management

  • Analyzing, problem solving and decision making

Management or Leadership experience in/with:

  • Sales, customer service, insurance, travel or product management

  • Analyzing, problem solving and decision making

  • Providing direction to and/or assisting in the development/training of staff

Knowledge and Skills:

Knowledge of:

  • Travel and insurance products and services

  • Travel and insurance standards and regulations

Ability to:

  • Communicate effectively with employees in order to share complex information (i.e., numbers, margins, customer service data, customer defections, quality data, etc.) In a clear and understandable manner.

  • Analyze local branch territories and/or sales markets and develop business plans to: increase the quality of existing business; retain existing customers; cross-sell products to existing customers and increase overall market share.

  • Represent ACG within the local community and to the various news media following established principles and guidelines

  • Promote the company mission by directing and coordinating activities to attain goals

  • Control cash operational activities and manage the physical plant of assigned location(s)

  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including overnight travel

  • Willingness to relocate to different work locations throughout the state and/or region. (NOTE: this qualification to be listed only as requested.)
