Unit Job Summary

The Assistant Director of Admissions recruits and evaluates applicants for admission to the Full-Time MBA Program at Chicago Booth. The Assistant Director will serve as an active team member of the Operations team and serve as a member of the Admissions Committee, participating in the recruitment and evaluation of prospective and admitted students. They will assist with planning and implementing recruiting strategies utilizing alumni in the admissions process by organizing presentations, special events, and marketing campaigns. The Assistant Director will assist the operations team in executing the alumni interview process. They will also help manage special program geared towards newly admitted students and other ad hoc projects and initiatives as assigned.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Work with the Sr. Associate Director to develop and implement opportunities for alumni engagement within the admissions process.

  • Executing Pre-MBA programs and initiatives working across multiple Booth teams, interacting with students, managing communication and overall operations with the guidance of the Sr. Associate Director.

  • Find new ways to identify, train and engage key alumni in the admissions interview process including execution of Super Saturday events twice a year. Partner with the Sr. Associate Director to oversee efforts of our ongoing "Shape the Class" alumni engagement and referral campaign as well as develop ongoing communication plans to engage alumni in our efforts.

  • Help create and foster engagement of students in the admission process so to keep them engaged as alumni.

  • Participate as a member of the Admissions Committee, including recruitment events, information sessions, and candidate evaluation.

  • Participate and assist in department-sponsored events, including prospective student events and Admit Weekends.

  • Some travel required.

Education

Bachelor's degree required.

Experience

A minimum two years of work experience in a professional environment required, higher education preferred.

Management experience preferred.

Competencies

Strong interpersonal and presentation skills required. Knowledge of database technology and Microsoft Office required. Ability to learn new technologies quickly required. Strong communication skills, both oral and written required. Superior organizational skills and attention to detail required. Ability to multi-task and prioritize with minimal supervision required. Ability to travel for recruitment events required.
