Deliver high quality consultancy and actuarial analysis to maintain and grow client portfolio. Lead actuarial and financial portion of client meetings. Explain actuarial methodology and results to clients, as well as potential alternatives. Lead strategic discussions with clients, framing results in context of the marketplace. Influence client strategic and financial direction. Influence client decision making. Establish relationships in strategic client positions. Demonstrate advanced technical and consultative skills/expertise. Lead projects with little oversight. Look for opportunities to expand current client relationships. Develop models to evaluate cost-saving scenarios and value retiree plans to ensure compliance with federal Medicare Part D regulations. Prepare and analyze Group Medicare Advantage RFP's. Set and review health care budget rates for self-insured plans and present to client teams and clients. Review employee contribution rate development and perform IBNP reserve development and Health Care Reform evaluation. Estimate financial impacts in changes to provider reimbursement analyses. Assist with sales opportunities and present at finalist meetings. Manage or mentor other actuaries and actuarial students. Drive best practices by championing consistent processes, tools, and techniques for profitable delivery, continual improvement in quality standards to meet overall business goals. Utilizing MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word programs. May travel to various and unanticipated worksites throughout the United States 1-2 times per month. All positions require an applicant who has accepted an offer to undergo a background check. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Economics, Finance, Math or Actuarial Science plus 5 progressive years of health and benefit actuarial analysis experience. Within the 5 years, must have 2 years of experience with each of the following: (1) Preparing quarterly experience reviews and renewal underwriting analyses, (2) Leading strategy development and costing scenarios related to strategy discussions, (3) Facilitating benchmarking discussions and analysis, including strategy evolution based on benchmarking data, (4) Applying knowledge of mathematics, probability, statistics, and finance to set and review health care budget rates for self-insured plans and presenting to client teams and clients, (5) Reviewing employee contribution rate development and performing IBNP reserve development, (6) Estimating financial impacts in changes to provider reimbursement analyses, (7) Developing models to evaluate cost-saving scenarios and value retiree plans to ensure compliance with federal Medicare Part D regulations, (8) Analyzing plan changes and assessing impact on Medicare Advantage bid process, (9) Providing analysis to ensure regulatory compliance with Medicare Advantage/Medicaid, and (10) Utilizing MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word programs. Must have Member of American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA) and Associate Society of Actuaries (ASA) designations.
