About the Unit
Unit Job Summary

We are looking for a research professional who will work closely with the PI to utilize single molecule multi-color TIRF microscopy to image in vitro reconstitutions from purified components of force-mediated actin filament networks. Principal duties and responsibility: Conduct experiments: Including protein expression plasmid construction, protein purification and fluorescent labeling, single molecule multi-color TIRF microscopy, micro-patterning and microfluidics, Image J data analysis, etc. Maintain the TIRF microscope and help supervise undergraduate and graduate students on various research projects. Provide regular oral reports on progress in our group meeting. Conduct literature reviews in our group meeting. Participate in writing reports, manuscripts and research grants.

Education

Doctoral degree in a field relevant to the research being conducted required.

Experience

Completion of postdoctoral training program (normally 3-5 years) required. Supervisory experience preferred.

Experience with plasmid construction, protein purification and fluorescent labeling, multi-color TIRF microscopy and micro-patterning techniques required. Experience with fission yeast and/or fly cell culture preferred.
