Position Summary :

The Sr. Financial Analyst will report to the Divisional Controller and will be responsible for workingcollaboratively with members of the Global Finance & Accounting team, business unit management teams, and our internal/external auditors on divisional data for decision making. The role will report to our North America Controller and be based in our Des Plaines, Illinois USA location.

Responsibilities :

  • Serve as a support to the Regional Controller through functional analytics

  • Responsibility for timely and accurate preparation of various internal Appliance and Corporate reporting.

  • Monitoring and reporting on the results of ITW’s Enterprise initiatives.

  • Appliance monthly and quarterly reports.

  • Assist Regional Controller with Long Range Plan and Annual Plan tasks as needed.

  • Partner with Sales and Engineering and Operations to develop and support financial tools and trackers (pricing, overhead analysis and new business modeling)

  • Improve controls around outlooking and forecasts

  • Simplify processes post-ERP implementation and work with key stakeholders along with IT

  • Provide timely, accurate, and value added ad hoc reporting and analysis for division locations that supports decision making including labor and expenses analyses

  • Build and maintain effective relationships with the sales, engineering and operations organization as well as the division leadership team

  • Assist management in developing detailed project analysis and model development. Prepare related forecasts and analysis to support business decisions.

  • Takes a systematic approach to evaluate alternatives, makes fact-based decisions, evaluates the consequences of decisions.

Job Requirements

  • Demonstrates insightful use of financial analysis techniques, tools, and concepts, to provide practical counsel to business unit partners and to help drive business results.

  • Takes a systematic approach to evaluate alternatives, makes fact-based decisions, evaluates the consequences of decisions.

  • Seeks information from internal customers/business partners to identify and improve non-value added practices.

  • Reviews, evaluates and prioritizes tasks/project assignments, identifies key issues and clearly communicates to management.

Position Requirements :

  • Bachelors or Master’s Degree in Accounting and/or Finance

  • CPA or CPA candidate preferred

  • 3-5 years of work experience in an external reporting environment.

  • Manufacturing organization experience highly preferred

  • Experience in designing and simplifying processes

  • Strong and proactive verbal and written communication with cross-functional stakeholders

  • Organized and results-driven

  • Inquisitive and curious to explore the “why"

  • Expert Excel skills’ and ability to create macros

  • Project management skills, planning and organizing

  • Experience with financial modeling with a general foundation in Accounting

  • Strong analytical skills and overall knowledge of accounting principles

  • Ability to perform in a fast paced environment

  • Proficient with key financial applications (JDE, Excel, etc.)

  • Up to 10-15% travel to North American locations (Wisconsin and Mexico)
