Integrated DNA Technologies Financial Analyst in Skokie, Illinois

The Financial Analyst will support the VP of Finance in the Skokie office, as part of a team that provides analysis and decision support for all levels of management for many departments of the company. This role takes place in a dynamic environment as part of a fast-paced, growing compa

  • Supports the VP of Finance in partnering with the business to understand, challenge, and serve business needs

  • Prepares timely and accurate monthly reporting for Management comparing budget and forecasts to actual results with insightful commentary on variances

  • Participates, develops and documents processes for key accounting and business process initiatives

  • Serves as a process and ERP functional expert for Budgeting, Planning and Forecasting and Reporting

  • Fulfills additional reporting needs on an ad-hoc basis, as requested

  • Provides timely, organized and informative analyses

  • Actively participants in the creation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts

  • Monitors results in the general ledger to ensure correct transactions, correct accruals and compliance with US GAAP for the needs of internal and external reporting

  • Identifies and drives process improvements, especially to drive efficiency and proactive support

  • Demonstrates behavior consistent with the Integrated DNA Technologies Core Values and Code of Conduct

  • Performs other analyses and duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (preferred) or Finance required

  • MBA or CPA preferred

Professional Experience

  • Experience with a Business Intelligence tool preferred

  • SAP expertise with FI and/or CO highly preferred

  • Prior experience preferred

  • Prior experience with ERP systems (Dynamics AX and/or SAP) preferred


  • Demonstrated experience using critical thinking skills highly preferred

  • Intermediate Excel skills required; Advanced preferred

Other Job Qualifications

  • Ability to analyze and interpret data, and to communicate conclusions and recommendations when appropriate

  • Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Office applications

  • Detail oriented and organized

  • Knowledge of the principles, processes and standards for US GAAP and financial analysis and reporting

  • Adaptability to performing a variety of duties, often changing from one task to another without loss of efficiency or composure

  • Ability to maintain both a high standard of courtesy and cooperation in dealing with co-workers

  • Adaptability to accepting responsibility for the direction, control or planning of an activity
