Lehigh Hanson is seeking a qualified Sales Coach in the Chicago Area.

SUMMARY

The purpose of the role is driving the sales team’s focus to growing the current business through the existing customer base & segments, as well as capturing new customers and creating opportunities to sell value- add products and services.

Reporting to the VP/GM, this position is responsible for working closely with the sales team to drive the management of a sales and marketing strategy that maximizes market opportunities and assures all sales are generating maximum profit.

This position is based in a suburb of the Chicago Metropolitan area. The Metro area has a lot to offer with world-class educational institutions, cultural diversity, a wide array of housing options and some of the best shopping and dining in the world. This high-profile position provides exposure to diverse operations in challenging markets as well as wide exposure across the management of the business and has a lot to offer the potential candidate in terms of challenges, experience and potential for future growth.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO:

  • Lead sales team in structured and professional approach to Aggregate sales

  • The Sales Coach is required to work with the sales team to effectively develop and leverage existing customer relationships as well as achieve the new business goals of sales growth within each segment

  • Support a strong production/sales planning process to ensure quarry balance

  • In field 50% of the time inspiring, motivating, coaching and develop the individual capabilities of the sales team to efficiently execute the sales strategy and deliver on the regional sales goals and objectives

  • Formulate, develop and coordinate the delivery of highly valued account plans for existing and potential new customers that achieve mutual business objectives

  • Ensure use of corporate commercial tools to make data-driven decisions, track the sales cycle and progress to plan

  • Support development & implementation of a logistics strategy

  • Maintain a consistent sales process for bidding/quoting processes, follow-up & win/loss review

  • Identify strategic and key business opportunities within markets of the area of responsibility and effectively assist sales team in realizing and creating new business opportunities

  • Effectively maintain and develop relationships with key influencers in major customer account segments

  • Coach both existing and prospective customers in company products

  • Design, develop and implement a sales and marketing excellence development program for the regional sales team to ensure commitment and realize sustained improve sales and marketing performance

  • Ensure all activities are aligned to Lehigh Hanson’s Company Values and Building Blocks and all procedures are followed.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

  • Construction market and industry knowledge an asset

  • Understand customers’ businesses and what products can best meet their expectations and needs

  • A proven track record of achievement in a sales leadership role with a multi-million dollar sales budget

  • Previous experience managing local and regional teams based across multiple locations

  • Experience in the implementation of best practices sales and marketing programs

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in sales, management or engineering preferred

  • Post-Secondary Degree preferably

  • Minimum of three to five years’ of sales and management experience

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills

  • Ability to build strong and effective relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
