Senior Technologist is responsible for the oversight of the day-to-day operations of hematology and coagulation within the laboratory. Reports directly to the lab manager and indirectly to the laboratory director and medical director. Duties include: staff competency, adherence to CAP, CLIA and Joint Commission regulatory standards, review and maintenance of instruments and quality control. Maintaining a high level of involvement within the department, including a high % of time performing actual testing. Required to stay current with industry and instrument trends, and be heavily involved with quality improvement initiatives. Skills in phlebotomy are necessary, and previous lead or supervisory experience is desirable. Modeling of excellent customer service with patients, their families and with nursing staff is expected.
