QTC Management Medical Assistant Trainer Sr in Bedford Park, Illinois

Job Summary:

Assists in the on-the-job training of Medical Assistants in clinic processes and procedures. Performs front and back office duties, to include phones, data entry, and assisting in the examination process of patients under the direction of a physician. Interviews patients, measures vital signs and records information on patients' charts, draws and collects blood samples from patients, prepares specimens for laboratory analysis, and conducts a variety of diagnostic tests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conducts on-the-job and specific training for new and existing team members to ensure understanding of the job, responsibilities, policies and procedures

  • Updates existing training procedures as necessary and provides feedback related to training effectiveness

  • Strategize to find new methods to improve and promote quality of medical reports and monitor own work to ensure quality is met

  • Performs routine procedures to obtain claimants medical history, record vital signs and complete lab requisitions

  • Performs standard diagnostic procedures accurately, efficiently and with the highest quality including but not limited to: 12-lead electrocardiograms, proficient venipuncture and preparation of lab specimens, pulmonary function test (PFT), and arterial flow Doppler studies

  • Reviews and edits reports in proprietary software application to ensure accuracy in context, grammar, spelling and consistency accomplished by review of computerized worksheets, doctor’s notes, and verification of information through dialogue with physician and/or initiating follow up contact with claimants

  • Works with providers and operational teams to ensure reports are submitted timely and accurately

  • May be required to chaperone providers with claimants of the opposite sex during examination

  • Assist claimants and providers with translation of questionnaire forms during evaluation, as necessary

  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned


  • High attention to detail with the ability to identify mistakes and inconsistencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology and their applications

  • Working knowledge of EMR and MS Office

  • Ability to organize, plan and coordinate multiple tasks with a high sense of urgency and follow-through

  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently

  • Exceptional customer service skills that will enhance the interaction with providers, operational teams and clients

  • Ability to demonstrate understanding, interpretation and implementation of policies and procedures

  • Ability to maintain conditions that ensure a healthy and safe work environment

  • Demonstrated ability to promote a positive team environment

  • Ability to manage financial responsibilities and expense reports adhering to company policy

  • Good presentation skills

  • Ability to type 30 wpm with accuracy

Education and/or Experience: (includes certificate & licenses)

  • Associate’s Degree in Medical Assisting and/or graduation from an accredited vocational Medical Assistant program, and/or military equivalent

  • Medical Assistant Certification/Registration or meet state requirements

  • Must be able to successfully pass National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) background investigation
