This is your chance to play an integral role in Elkay’s plumbing product engineering operations! The talented Product Engineer we hire will oversee and perform the design and development of new products and product enhancements. The Product Engineer will manage several product engineering projects from conception through the production release. Work very closely with Product Managers and other team member. Specific responsibilities include:

  • Develop electrical/electronic products meeting customer/marketing requirements, utilizing Elkay’s Product Development process and tools.

  • Manage several concurrent product engineering projects from concept through production release.

  • Develop product enhancements while maintaining functionality, performance, product cost, and manufacturability.

  • Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications.

  • Provide Engineering product support on a wide variety of water delivery products.

  • Serve as technical resource for new product development and manage engineering documentation such as design/detail drawings, bill of materials, product cost, instruction manuals, technical data for specification sheets, certification design requirements, product testing process and test data analysis.

  • Responsible for all design related activities on specific projects including print dimensions/specification, product testing/validation, and definition of new testing equipment needs.

  • Effectively communicate product engineering specifications to cross functional teams including non-technical members at all levels of the company.

  • Develops manufacturing build and test process/procedures by working closely with Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering and Operators.

Electrical Engineer Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering Degree

  • 3-5 years experience working with electrical systems, designs and testing.

  • Electrical/Electronic Troubleshooting skills

  • Knowledge and experience developing applications/functions with single board computers (Raspberry Pi, UDOO, Beagle Bone…) desired.

  • Software Skills a plus (C, C++, Python)

  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration (verbal, written, and presentational) skills a must.

  • Successful track record in project leadership.

  • Ability to use statistics and quality systems.

  • Proficient in Microsoft office tools such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.

  • Must be able to travel up to 20% of the time.
