The Facilities Electrical Engineer position will be based in Buffalo Grove, Il. Responsible for the function of the plant and reports to the Facilities Manager. Accountabilities include providing electrical, instrumentation, BAS and technical assistance in support of the day-to-day operations, as well as providing engineering and project management support for plant projects.

Here is a glimpse of what you?ll do:

+ Provide technical assistance in upgrades or replacement of existing low, medium & high voltage switchgear and protection schemes. Ensure all new installations and relocations meet NEC and NFPA 70E requirements.

+ Review and ensure all electrical one-line diagrams are accurate and up to date.

+ Assist with Power System and Arc Flash studies as needed.

+ Improve substation maintenance programs and their execution.

+ Proposes new programs to keep equipment and processes technologically advanced and leading the industry in product quality, productivity, energy efficiency, environmental responsibility and safety

+ Interfaces with, global PCT manufacturing plants, tread and mold design group and corporate marketing during new equipment development feasibility studies

+ Makes informed recommendations for additions and modifications to new and existing equipment

+ Identify, develop, and execute capital/expense projects that proactively improve the safety, reliability, operability, capacity, and cost of Anniston plant operations. Provide high-quality design, scope, and cost/schedule estimates that are consistent with our commitment to continuous improvement.

+ Perform the project management function for the execution of small and mid-size capital projects.

+ Provide electrical and maintenance assistance in the day-to-day operations of the department and operations.

+ Design, specify, install, and troubleshoot industrial electrical and instrumentation control systems.

+ Projects may include, but not be limited to: Facilities Maintenance, Safety Projects, GMP and Non-GMP-type Projects, Office and Exterior Construction related projects

+ Assist with completing assessments and evaluations of existing plant infrastructure systems to help develop future capital plans.

+ Maintains safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.

+ Coordinate plant efforts in reviewing breakdowns and failures with the intention of eliminating root causes of the failures, increasing the on-stream time of the plant, and reducing costs.

+ Provide technical training to maintenance/production departments to improve their understanding of electrical equipment systems.

+ Performs additional related duties as assigned.

Here is some of what you?ll need (required):

+ B.S. degree or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, Mechanical or Engineering Physics.

+ 5 to 7 years of progressively responsible work experience in electrical engineering.

+ Advanced PLC & HMI programming experience using Rockwell Automation hardware & software.

+ Five years? experience in control system design and panel layout.

+ In-depth knowledge of modern safety systems and safety circuit design.

+ Experience with variable frequency drives (VFDs) and servo motion control.

+ ystems knowledge and experience to include: HVAC, compressed air, electrical distribution, stationary systems, and structural design.

+ Training and experience in using Lean Manufacturing tools preferred

+ Travel required ? 10% (Equipment Run-offs or other site visits)

Here are a few of our preferred experiences?

+ Experience/knowledge in plastic injection molding operations.

+ Experience in manufacturing equipment installations and start-up, particularly on from a Facilities support stand-point.

+ Current engineer license.

+ Familiar with facility commissioning and FDA validation requirements.Minimum 1 year experience in the manufacture of medical devices.

+ Experience with FDA Quality System Regulation (QSR) Part 820 of Title 21 of the Code of Federal Regulations
