Position Responsibilities:

  • Provide telephone triage to provide symptom assessment, information, and appropriate Physician referral

  • Triage incoming patients’ acute conditions and initiate a treatment plan

  • Call patients regarding test results, medical instruction, and patient education; schedule nurse appointments for procedures, tests, and education.

  • Educate patients and family members about disease process, treatment modalities, medications, home care, procedures, and follow-up recommendations.

  • Primary resource for clinical staff and assist support staff as needed.

  • Assist with preparation for Joint Commission, IDPH, and other regulatory inspections.

  • Identify and participate in QI activities.

  • Enjoy professional growth by attending conferences, workshops, inservices and interdisciplinary meetings.

Position Qualifications Include:

  • Current IL RN license

  • BSN or MSN

  • CPR Certification

  • 1-2 years nursing experience; neurosurgical experience preferred

  • Basic computer skills; experience with EMR

  • Work requires the ability to walk throughout the Medical Center and to be standing or walking most of the designated shifts Demonstrated clinical expertise in the care of the cardiac patient population and previous work experience in a Recovery, ICU or step-down setting required.

  • Work requires lifting or carrying objects 35-40lbs and supporting and positioning patients some whom may exceed 300lbs.
