Job Description

We are currently seeking a Central Area Coatings and Fireproofing Manager in the East Chicago/Indiana Area within our team of experienced professionals. The right candidate will be able toplan, direct, and coordinate activities of designated insulation/coatings and Fireproofing projects to ensure that goals and objectives of project are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.


  • Sales & Business Development

  • Maintain relationships with Clientele

  • Define and Pursue Opportunities for scope expansion

  • Solicit new target accounts and trace with company CRM tool

  • Forecast monthly, quarterly and annual revenue.

  • All other duties as assigned.

  • Estimating

  • Receive RFP/RFQ in Midwest Division for BID proposals

  • Attend pre-bid meetings and make site visit(s)

  • Takeoffs from blueprint drawings and/or field take offs

  • Obtain vendor quotes for materials and equipment

  • Utilize BrandSafway catalog for approved and recommended vendors

  • Prepare competitive estimates in accordance with bid documents

  • Bid Submittals as requested per BID RFP/RFQ

  • Schedule Bid review with area manager and SMT per our DOA/ARA

  • Operational Management/Project Management

  • Manage all active projects

  • Allocate labor resources inclusive of project supervision

  • Maintain relationship with the IUPAT DC/local union

  • Allocate company and rental equipment for projects

  • Establish daily and/or weekly communication dialogue with customer

  • Ensure the project supervision and crafts are following the estimate/budget

  • Establish daily, weekly and monthly project reporting requirements

  • Recognize cost impacting issues and options to resolve

  • Report on cost impacting issues to your area VP/manager

  • Manage the contract and initiate change orders as required for additional scope

  • Ensure the project is “meeting” or ahead of the project construction schedule

  • Report to “SMT” on schedule, cost, margin, and EAC for projected completion

  • Procure equipment, materials, and consumables via nexgen purchasing system

  • Approval on all jobs for weekly payroll hours

  • Coordinate with biller on partial monthly progress billing/invoice

  • Project Closeout documents-final submittals/deliverables/final pay application

  • Demobilization of project personnel and equipment

  • 4 year degree preferable but not required.


  • 2-5 years of experience or a combination of education and experience.

  • 2 years of experience in the construction industry preferable

Computer Skills

  • Advanced experience using Microsoft Excel, Word and Power Point.
