Curbell Inc. District Sales Manager – Outside in Chicago, Illinois
This position is responsible for successfully managing sales efforts in a defined geography in alignment with our strategy and our organizational mission, vision and values. Responsibilities include managing Outside Sales efforts and providing financial results to meet company goals.
_This District Sales Manager –Outside will have responsibility for Outside Sales management in Detroit, Cincinnati, and Chicago regions. Candidates may reside in any of these regions or neighboring areas. _
- Executes and delivers upon a defined set of Best Business Practices for the role. Includes managing Outside Sales, Direct Customer Involvement, Margin Management, Supplier Relationships, and Training, as well as using Curbell Selling System, CRM and Sales Tools. Responsible for implementing Company initiatives at the local and regional level.
- Works closely with the District Sales Manager-Inside Sales. Primary responsibility is to increase sales and gross margin contribution in a given geography with a focus on new business from new accounts (GNC) and significant new opportunities within existing accounts (SGR+). Responsible for leads and opportunities management and program management in the field. Accomplishes this through leading the Outside Sales team and through individual efforts. (Measure by Sales and Margin Results)
- Develop a culture of high performance and employee engagement by inspiring, developing, and motivating internal talent. Facilitate good discussions with employees in order to understand their professional goals and aspirations. Create an environment of open communication that fosters upward feedback and suggestions. Make well informed decisions, demonstrate initiative, exhibit autonomy and execute on organization initiatives. (Measure by Employee Engagement and Retention)
A Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, or Business related field, or equivalent experience.
*Minimum of 2 years of management experience. *Previous outside sales experience in Plastics Distribution.
Job Specific Requirements
*Experience in selling services in a business to business model. *Ability to train others and to lead a group of people. *Experience with territory and sales management techniques. *Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. *Technical knowledge of plastics and applications. *Accustomed to dealing at the senior decision making levels within large organizations. *Ability to develop and present information to small and large groups of employees or customers. *Experience in selling multiple service offerings and ability to present solutions to prospective customers to meet their business goals. *A seasoned closer willing to leverage the network of customers for new and add-on sales. *Strong PC proficiency and familiarity SAP and other with web searching.
*Ability to perform routine office tasks that includes operating a computer for long periods of time, sitting, filing and communicating on the phone *Ability to perform all physical functions consistent with travel including sitting in airplanes and driving for long periods of time *Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull a maximum of 50 pounds
