The HAZMAT & Export Compliance Analyst ensures compliance of Import, Export and Dangerous Goods / HAZMAT laws for the shipping, storing, filings, disposals or declarations to the local, state and federal regulators of Bombardier’s Part Services Hubs operations by "Third Party Logistics" or other Bombardier stakeholders by scheduled and ad-hoc performance the classifications, audits, document reviews and reporting. Responsibilities also include communication with Customs, Civil Air Organizations, Vendors, Regulating Auditors and Corporate Legal department to ensure alignment and performance of policy and new regulations.

In your role, you will:

  • Review of add Classification of Dangerous Goods as per country including exceptions licenses

  • Prepare any waste manifest of scrapped / deemed material for customs or EPA and service provider pick up

  • Audit Export (US filings to customs authority by 3PL) daily, weekly, or as required

  • File all license required parts to US authorities for Bombardier parts and cleared the Bombardier EX-Team or compliance authority

  • Conduct audits as required of filings, classifications, declarations, regulators, carriers and correct or amend any errors or omissions in a timely manner

  • Approve, add/audit, and inventory adjustments needing approval by the Bombardier Finance department

  • File any required regulatory or Safety information to the HSE for BBD (employee)

  • Request assistance for part number updates for Import / Export / Dangerous Goods to Bombardier’s Configuration management or Quality Control

  • Represent Bombardier in all regulator audits (Customs, DOT, LBA, PHMSA, TSA, OSHA, and EPA)


As our ideal candidate,

  • You typically have a minimum of 3 years of experience with Export Training and Dangerous Goods

  • You have working knowledge of Compliance for Dangerous Goods/Export and Import regulations and required documentation

  • You have working knowledge of audit requirements, reporting and amendment procedures with the regulators, carriers or customers

  • You have ERP system experience (SAP/EWM preferred)

  • You have basic knowledge of FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and (FAR) Federal Aviation Regulations

  • You have working knowledge of MSDS sheets, EPA or Waste Manifest application

  • You have working knowledge of hazardous materials and associated regulatory risks

  • You have working knowledge of DOT (Dept. of Transportation), IATA (International Traffic in Arms) and other global trade laws/regulations

  • You are familiar with OSHA standards

  • You have auditor training

  • You have previous experience working in the aircraft industry

  • You have basic knowledge of aircraft parts and terminology

  • You have an Associate’s Degree and/or equivalent experience – preferred

  • Certified professional in the field (Export Regulations, Hazardous Materials Transportation) preferred
