Locates housing options for clients.
Coordinates appropriate placements of new and relocating program participants.
Solicits and negotiates with realtors, landlords, and management companies to locate safe, affordable housing options. Acts as liaison between client and landlord.
Accompanies clients to view potential apartments and assists with set up and utilities on move-in day.
Conducts housing inspection/home visits.
Completes progress notes for all program participants.
- Bachelor's Level Degree, Bachelor's degree in a human services field required
Previous case management experience highly preferred.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Team oriented work style.
Knowledge of local housing resources and program requirements preferred.
Knowledge of tenancy rights and landlord-tenant laws preferred.
Bilingual/bicultural preferred but not required.
Ability to travel around the Chicago and South suburb areas for home client visits.
