Navigant’s Healthcare Disputes, Compliance & Forensics practice focuses on assisting healthcare and clients and their counsel in addressing the issues associated with complex disputes, investigations, regulatory and compliance, and technology services. Our practice is primarily focused on assisting Payer, Provider, and Pharmacy clients and their counsel.
Payer - Navigant combines in-depth knowledge of payer operations and regulatory requirements with exceptional data analytics, legal research, and auditing skills to help companies navigate the complex regulatory environment.
Provider - Government investigations, contractual disputes, allegations of fraud and mismanagement, and long-term litigation matters are disruptive to the business activities of a healthcare organization and can have a significant impact on resources and finances. Navigant experts have a thorough understanding of these unique industry issues and provide clients with deep experience in healthcare regulatory compliance and litigation matters.
Pharmacy - Navigant offers a cross functional team including former prosecutors, clinicians as well as financial, reimbursement and compliance experts with the skill sets, experience and passion necessary to support our clients facing enforcement and compliance challenges related to the payment, delivery and supply of prescription drugs.
This is a position that draws heavily upon all of the analytical, creative, and interpersonal skills essential to consulting. The ability to provide comprehensive and diverse support for consulting engagements is essential. Our consultants must have a high level of intellectual curiosity and ability to problem solve to help our clients resolve a diverse array of business and regulatory issues. Candidates for this position will be responsible for managing projects including day to day client interaction, project strategy along with managing and mentoring a team. Candidates must be able to understand complex business problems and systems and leverage that knowledge to conduct substantial business analyses and deliver high quality, client-ready work. As our clients are often large, complex entities, our managing consultants and associate directors must demonstrate considerable poise, an ability to deal with ambiguity, strong problem solving skills and strong communication skills both written and oral to effectively communicate with clients and their counsel. Specific responsibilities include:
Perform detailed fact finding, research and analysis
Train and supervise appropriate personnel including Consultants, client personnel, and administrative support as appropriate
Manage data gathering activities including document review/organization and supervision and quality control of data acquisition activities
Direct, review and develop computer models including detailed, and potentially, complex spreadsheet and data base analysis
Provide both written and oral communication of results to clients
Coordinate administrative functions including time tracking and bill preparation
Evaluate and mentor staff members
Identify sales opportunities and assist in proposals and strategy development
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in accounting, finance, economics, information systems, or other quantitative related discipline
Intermediate to advanced data analytics skills required. Must be able to analyze large amounts of data using query tools such as SQL, R or SAS
4+ years' experience with various forms of healthcare data, health insurance payment methodologies / pharmacy billing along with prior dispute/litigation consulting experience
Must be able to demonstrate written and oral communication and presentation skills
Ability to understand the importance of privileged and confidential communications
General understanding of financial and healthcare data and ability to develop quantitative models
Strong project management skills
Commitment to quality and working within a team
Ability to travel as needed
Frequently communicates with clients and coworkers and must be able to share information effectively
Strong conceptual, as well as quantitative and qualitative analytical skills
Work as a member of a team as well as be a self-motivator with ability to work independently
Flexibility and responsiveness in managing multiple projects in sometimes high-pressure situations simultaneously
Able to travel via airplane with minimal assistance to client sites across the US and potentially internationally
Usually remains stationary for the majority of the day
Regularly uses close visual acuity and operates computer equipment to prepare and analyze and transmit data
