Publicis Media SVP, Global Director of Communications in Chicago, Illinois
A member of the global leadership team for one of the world’s leading media agency brands, and a part of the Business Development & Communications Practice of Publicis Media, the ideal candidate will be responsible for leading and championing global communications and marketing for the Starcom brand globally.
Ownership of the overall reputation and differentiation of the brand globally through a clear and consistent story, spanning communications and brand marketing activities/platforms; coordination of internal and external communications for the brand.
Lead global brand communication strategy and overall brand positioning; unify the brand presence globally by setting guidelines for excellence, working with regional and market/local communications leadership.
Globally manage branding strategy and standards (physical/digital), logo/assets, boilerplates, etc.
Lead the brand’s reputation across owned platforms, setting guidelines and approach for content spanning websites and social presence.
Responsible for the executive positioning strategy for the Global Brand President, with guidance to local brand leadership, spanning external and internal opportunities.
With a focus on agency culture, oversee frequent and consistent communications that unify globally yet resonate locally. In partnership with brand leadership, define the tenets of brand culture to which all should aspire; manage the communications aspects of a few strategic engagement/culture programs that are templated for local activation
In partnership with global/regional and local communications teams, ensure a strong, strategic brand presence in the press. Oversee press relations for the Global Brand President; Ensure advance awareness of all regional/local market press activity (leadership announcements, growth, awards/honors, etc).
Manage the brand’s presence at tentpole events and conferences; work closely with regional and local communications leads to ensure market-level partnership/sponsorship opportunities are strategically aligned and on brand.
In partnership with regional and local communications leads, identify and execute mutually meaningful client experiences that also advance the brand reputation, including but not limited to award, editorial or speaking opportunities.
Global relationship management on behalf of the brand with key industry associations, analysts, rankings (i.e. Comvergence, RECMA, Ad Age Data Center, Forrester, etc); partnership with global, regional and local leadership to ensure consistent presence across markets.
Responsible for ensuring the global communications team is aware and notified of external communications announcements/activities; Work to collaborate across global brands and practices to facilitate the sharing of best practices, opportunities and ways to seek efficiencies and growth for the team.
This position will report directly to the Starcom Global Brand President, actively collaborating with our global markets to advance the global reputation of the brand.
10+ years of related experience required; previous experience in advertising/media or technology/digital sectors is a bonus.
Proven ability to support and counsel senior-level executives, ideally spanning global markets
Thrives in fast-paced environments, is flexible, collaborative and deadline driven. Polished presentation, writing and organizational skills
Rich experience in uncovering unique and innovative story angles, while driving thought leadership
Proven success in nurturing relationships with press, proven history of securing placements
Builds relationships across stakeholders – internally, externally and spanning global geographies – and is able to work up, down and lateral across the organization.
