Job Description and Responsibilities

EVRAZ North America is seeking a Systems Engineer to coordinate the maintenance, design, and development of our server infrastructure. In this role you will work with our Corporate, Operations, and Offshore stakeholders to ensure the reliability and integrity of EVRAZ's IT infrastructure. As a solution provider with superior trouble shooting skills, you will deliver agile, cost-effective solutions on matters related to our server, storage, and virtualization systems. Your ability to plan and execute concurrent projects will be essential to your success.


+ Deliver computing, communications and security server infrastructure design solutions; complete design reviews and implement solutions for the safeguards computing environment

+ Plan, document and lead server infrastructure projects; participate in application development projects as a system administrator and solution adviser, with the overall aim of providing well engineered, secure and integrated solutions

+ Manage and monitor data replication/protection and disaster recovery strategies to ensure the recoverability of data and systems in a timely manner and for appropriately defined periods of retention

+ Collaborate with security coordinators and advisers to remediate security risks through technical and procedural endeavors

+ Work with third party offshore contractors to ensure the security, reliability and availability of the EVRAZ's servers and hosted services

Job Requirements


+ Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field

+ Minimum eight to ten (8-10) years of related experience

+ Windows Server technologies

+ VMware vSphere administration

+ Citrix design and administration

+ NetBackup system design and administration

+ EMC VNX, VNXe, Data Domain Management

+ NetBackup, Veritas

+ Application virtualization technologies such as "Docker Containers", Puppet and Chef, an asset

+ UNIX/Linux an asset

+ MDT an asset

+ Demonstrated troubleshooting abilities in all aspects of the server design, implementation/deployment, and management/operations of data centers, networks, servers, storage, and virtualization environments

+ Ability to manage IT infrastructure projects such as: unified storage deployment (SAN/NAS), virtualization technologies, network technology/topology changes, Citrix upgrades/migrations and server refresh

+ Systems oriented, knowledge of industry standard quality control and continuous improvement rocesses and best practices

+ Excellent oral and written communication skills including: presentation skills, technical writing and process documentation

+ Effective at establishing and maintaining relationships with internal and external counterparts, desire to work in a multicultural/multidisciplinary environment

+ Experience in a manufacturing environment, preferred
