The Global VP Marketing role will be responsible for defining, implementing and executing the strategy for our global operations and customers. He/she will be responsible for Hengstler Dynapar’s customer segmentation and Voice-of-Customer (VOC) initiatives to identify market insights and trends, and turn them into new product commercialization opportunities that support our strategic objectives. This role will also be responsible for maximizing the value of our product portfolio, defining and implementing our pricing initiatives, leading our Condition Monitoring growth project and setting the product roadmap and GTM strategies for feedback as well as for the non-Feedback Core Products from Hengstler. He/she will lead the Marketing team, with Digital Marketing, Product Marketing and Marketing Communication with the target to collaborate with other key functional areas in Hengstler Dynapar and also in Fortive to achieve our growth targets.
This role reports to the President and is based in Gurnee, IL, and will work within a highly cross-functional organization to help drive dynamic performance in all areas. The Marketing team is currently seen as having 7 direct reports and a total team size of around 20 people spread over Germany and NA with a strong matrix relationship to China.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead the strategic planning process for Hengstler Dynapar and be actively involved in setting the strategic direction for the Global Feedback Business Unit
Employ marketing best practices such as customer segmentation, VOC, product portfolio management, competitive positioning, market assessment, pricing, and new product development
Define, structure and lead the execution of VOC initiatives to identify market needs and opportunities that result in a strong product road map for our business
Lead the Marketing team to success
Lead initiatives to research and develop new products
Plan and modify products to meet customer needs
Bring Condition Monitoring project to growth targets
Confer with customers and engineers to assess equipment needs and to determine system requirements
Collaborate with sales teams to understand customer requirements, to promote the sale of company products, and to provide sales support.
Develop, present, or respond to proposals for specific customer requirements, including requests for proposal responses and industry-specific solutions.
Oversee new product development efforts, from business case creation to product launch
Analyze market trends and opportunities to effectively manage Dynapar’s product portfolio
Develop, expand and maintain Market Maps to understand relevant industries and competitors, and recommend initiatives to drive competitive differentiation
Oversee the development and implementation of Digital Marketing processes and initiatives to drive growth
Oversee the development and execution of product training and support to sales, customer service, technical support, distributors and customers to drive growth
Actively participate in trade shows, conferences and sales promotions
Be the voice of Hengstler Dynapar to the market and to Fortive
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree required; technical degree highly preferred
Must possess 7 relevant experience with 3 years in a strategic role
Automation industry experience a plus
Leadership experience in leading a global team
