Position Overview

The HR Generalist position is responsible for facilitating and administering generalist activities to successfully work with the Human Resources functions. Work with the Human Resources Manager to maximize the utilization of the Human Resources component of the organization.

Roles and Responsibilities

nn

+ Assist in the recruitment of salaried exempt, salaried non-exempt and hourly hiring process, including composition of job postings, community outreach, advertisements and descriptions, screening of applications/resumes, background checks, interviewing of candidates, offer letter preparation.

+ Provide current and prospective employees with information about policies, job duties/responsibilities, compensation, opportunities for promotion and employee benefits.

n

+ Assists Manager, Human Resources with required training, including preparation, review and distribution.

n

+ Assists Manager, Human Resources with development and maintenance of corporate policies and procedures, and maintains electronic database.

n

+ Perform difficult duties, including dealing with understaffing, administering disciplinary procedures and offering professional guidance on the same.

n

+ Processes corporate employee terminations, including entry, calculations and routing of appropriate paperwork.

n

+ Coordinate and document all claims and reports relating to specific state workforce development and unemployment offices.

n

+ Serve as a liaison between management and employees by handling questions/concerns, interpreting policies and procedures and assist in resolving work-related problems.

n

+ When applicable, conducts and documents HR related investigations, including, but not limited to, EEO complaints, harassment complaints and general empl yee issues.

n

+ Assists with review, revision and update of employee handbook as needed.

+ Maintains professional demeanor in dealing with critical/confidential information; restricts discussion/knowledge of activity to a ?need to know? basis.

+ Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
