Business Process Transformation Manager
The Group Manager - Business Transformation collaborates with cross-functional and cross-regional teams to improve business operations and outcomes across the Komatsu extended enterprise. Organizes and participates in strategic change initiatives which improve productivity and effectiveness; improve customer experience; respond to the “voice of the market”; enable data-driven decisions; create new products and services.Participate in as many as 5 major projects or 10 smaller projects concurrently, or a combination. Lead and/or support business transformation efforts to attain 50% productivity improvement over 6 years. Support process improvements that begin at Komatsu America Corp/Komatsu Mining Corp but ultimately span all Komatsu Group locations. 1. Identify opportunities to improve processes and outcomes across the Komatsu extended enterprise. • Analyze competitor capabilities to benchmark Komatsu situation• Apply industry knowledge to identify opportunities for technology-driven process improvements• Communicate and effectively articulate end-to-end solutions and supporting roadmaps• Investigate complex business issues, researching and identifying innovative solutions• Understand evolving technology and effectively communicate its potential business impact to stakeholders2. Collaborate with global teams to establish directions, roadmaps, project plans, and funding requirements• Facilitate workshops with stakeholders and sponsors to identify key pain points, prioritize actions, draft solutions, and attain buy-in for plans• Document future state business models• Identify and prioritize opportunities through quantitative and qualitative methods• Develop change impact assessments, readiness surveys, change management programs, and adoption measurement plans • Contribute to broader enterprise architecture vision and collaborate to drive architectural alignment across initiatives, business functions, global regions3. Develop solution processes by defining the process and technology changes required to enable them.• Model future state processes, functional components, and data requirements for technology solutions (business and technical architectures)• Develop logical data models based on functional requirements• Document key system factors such as data and transaction volumes, performance requirements, availability requirements, and reliability characteristics• Develop user stories to communicate requirements and characteristics• Prepare RFIs and RFPs, conduct evaluations of commercially available solutions, and recommend the best option(s)4. Reinforce the agile transformation of the enterprise by leading project teams practicing agile behaviors and ways of working• May act as product owner for initiatives of portions of initiatives• Perform quality assurance reviews of project work products• Provide leadership and expertise in the development of standards, architectural governance, business practices, and technology• Lead organizational change management efforts or workstreams for enterprise transformation initiatives
- Must be able to apply the seven principles of the KOMATSU Way to their everyday work activities where applicable.2. Outgoing, assertive personality with ability to present technical complexity through meaningful business dialog3. BS in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or at least 8 years related professional experience4. Master’s degree and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification desired5. At least 4 years of process analysis experience in a manufacturing company. 6. At least 2 years of project management with demonstrated experience using systems development methodologies, including agile methods, on two or more complete lifecycle projects. Also includes requisite change management efforts for implementation of projects.7. Excellent communication skills with the ability to communicate through verbal and written modes to all levels of the business and across diverse teams8. Ability to present complex information graphically9. Ability to review data, determine critical elements, and draw sound conclusions leading to action plans10. Experience facilitating business meetings regarding business process and systems (e.g., to define process improvements, develop future state documentation, or resolve complex issues)11. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in multi-lingual, multi-cultural teams12. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50% 13. Willingness to adjust work schedules to accommodate international meetings, host global visitors, etc.
